Gloomy Weekend

The Cowgirls opened the SEC/ACC/Big 12 Challenge on Friday with two games against Virginia Tech and Auburn. They were shut out in both games.

On Saturday a huge storm moved into the area and the team was unable to get in a game against No. 23 Georgia Tech. However, they were able to get in some practice time at the Auburn softball facility. They hit in the batting cages and were able to work on some drills.

On Sunday the Cowgirls faced No. 2 Alabama and lost a tough game 3-1. Senior Kelsey Anchors hit her first home run of the season in the game. She was the only Cowgirl hit and run of the game. She threw off the Alabama pitcher's perfect game. The Cowgirl pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts in the game and didn't walk anyone.
